Quim Masferrer is ‘El Foraster’ (The Outsider), a stand-up comedian on the road who travels across Catalonia in search of the human landscape of its towns with fewer than a thousand inhabitants. Each episode brings a new town, and with each town comes a new challenge: to perform a stand-up routine for the residents, one that is personalised and tailored to the town and its people. Quim Masferrer is given just 48 hours to meet as many people as possible. He then gathers all the residents in the town theatre to reveal his unique take on what he has discovered. Everyone is present, and any one of them could feature in his routine at any moment. For a few seconds, they get to be the centre of attention for all their neighbours.
