Set in the imaginary town of Sinera, a fishing village inhabited by a number of extreme characters irremediably doomed to the adversities of fate. There lives Laia, a woman marked by an unhappy childhood spent in poverty. To get away her alcoholic mother, Laia accepts the marriage proposal of Quelot, a brutish and taciturn fisherman who from an early age has harbored a mix of love and hate for her. But nothing in her new life goes as Laia expected.
